Professor Andrzej S. Kaminski has been awarded the 17th edition of the “Rzeczpospolita” Jerzy Giedroyc Award for the scope and effectiveness of the “Recovering Forgotten History” project carried out in the vein of Giedroyc. The gala evening took place on 4 December 2017 at the Krasinski Palace in Warsaw.

Professor Andrzej Nowak about the laureate:

In his lectures and publications, Professor Kaminski draws attention to the relations between the civic tradition and system of values embedded within the Commonwealth of Many Nations, and the ideas that gave rise to the integration of European nations within the European Union. He urges that the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth should take a prominent place in the history of parliamentarism and European constitutionalism, which is being saved from oblivion and often disregarded. He maintains that the Union`s roots lie in these traditions and values and that they should be brought to the attention of the European and world public. The Professor consistently contributes to challenging the stereotypes concerning the Commonwealth of Many Nations”.
